Katie

Katie is a sports enthusiast passionate about people, storytelling and good iced coffee.

She grew up in the small town of Delano, Minnesota as the only girl in the middle of 6 boys. Her childhood consisted of running around cold hockey rinks and spending weekends traveling in the family 15 passenger van to games and practices.

She was a competitive 3 sport athlete throughout high school, earning honors in Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. After graduation, she attended the University of Hawai’i at Hilo where she walked on to the Women’s Basketball Team.

It was an enjoyable time for a Minnesota girl to live in paradise and attend school. She loved competing, but she became more focused on pursuing a career from the sidelines.

Katie transferred to St. Cloud State University and began to discover her passion for storytelling. She graduated in the Summer of 2018, earning a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Television Broadcast Journalism.

Since graduation, Katie has grown her broadcasting experience as both a Host and Reporter across multiple leagues and levels including the NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, WNBA, college hockey, college football and EA Sports.

Her hosting experience began in the City of Brotherly Love at the age of 24, when she had the opportunity to serve as the Pre/Postgame Host of the Philadelphia Flyers broadcasts on NBC Sports Philadelphia. She covered the orange and black throughout the 2019-20 regular season as well as two rounds of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In 2021, she jumped into the E-Gaming world, serving as the Host of the EA Sports Madden Championships series coverage, which streamed live on YouTube, Twitch and ESPN.

She later married her college sweetheart–officially becoming ‘Katie Storm’ and took her new name back home to her Minnesota roots, where she joined the Bally Sports North family to serve as a Host/Reporter.

Over the last two years, she has covered the Twins, Timberwolves and the network’s premier annual event, Hockey Day Minnesota.

Katie enjoys the opportunity to help connect fans with athletes through the art of storytelling, but she also cherishes getting to become broadcast teammates with some incredible former players including Chris Therien, Keith Jones, Joe Nathan, Jim Petersen, Glen Perkins, Justin Morneau, Roy Smalley, Scott Hartnell, Ben Clymer and so many others.

A full-time lover of buzzer beaters, game-winning goals, and walk-off wins, when Katie isn’t at an arena or stadium, you can find her enjoying time on the lake, skating on an outdoor rink or grabbing an iced coffee from just about any local coffee shop.
